I recently received
an email from Middle Class Union Made.com. It stated that middle class economics don't just happen.
They are made, UNION MADE! All the talk of globalization, free trade, and building a stronger economy with cheap jobs
and offshore labor is just what you think it is - a bunch of nonsense!
The only people benefiting from anti-union economic policies are people so rich they cannot possibly spend their money in
ways that stimulate economic growth.
When unions have been strong, the
middle class has been strong. When unions have been weak, the middle class has been weak. This is no coincidence!
You must remind yourself of how important union membership is. Not just to yourself, but to your families, your neighbors,
and the entire American middle class. A fare wage for a fair days work, healthcare benefits, pensions and eight hour
work days!
Isn't it interesting that business leaders are so worried
about worker's rights (YOUR RIGHTS) under the "Employees Free Choice Act", when it is these employers who continually
violate the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA) while fighting to keep workers from gaining union representation during organizing
campaigns?
In fact, the Human Resource Policy Association reported
only 42 decisions AGAINST unions for authorization card violations from 1937 through 2007 (70 YEARS!)!
Meanwhile, business violated workers rights 29,559 times in 2007 alone (only
1 YEAR!); over the years this calculates to about a 50,000 to 1 ratio! And these people state they are worried
about workers' rights - GIVE US A BREAK!
Give
worker's a fair chance - vote FOR the "Employee Free Choice Act!"!
